Empowering Black Couples to Heal, Connect, & Thrive.
What is this about?
We believe in Black Love.
Coretta and Martin Love.
Michelle and Barack Love.
Graca and Nelson Love.
Oprah and Stedman Love.
Pauletta and Denzel Love.
Queen Nefertari and Ramesses II Love.
Loves that faced hardship and struggle.
Loves that inspired others.
Loves that endured.
Black Love Matters.
"Doesn't ALL Love matter?"
Just stop.
Yes, "All love matters," AND... just like Black Lives, Black Love is in jeopardy. It is in danger. It is special, unique, and in need of attention. Black Love has been ravaged by history, is threatened in the present, and faces an uncertain future.
Everywhere we turn, there is evidence of fragmentation, anger, and dialog that drives us further away from each other, instead of bringing us closer together.
We want to explore the State of Black Love and how it can be nurtured and strengthened. We want to discuss how Black men and women must intentionally work on their mental, spiritual and physical health in order to be the best love partners they can be. We want to explore this next dimension of Black Love.
“My heart bares itself instantly,
at the memory of your love.
It does not let me walk like a person,
it has strayed from its shelter.
….My health-cure is her visit,
has she gazed, then I am well,
has she opened her eyes, then my body is young,
has she spoken, then I am strong.
When I embrace her, she has banished harm from me…”
Ramesses II and Queen Neferteri
